世界スーパーバンタム級4団体統一王者の井上尚弥（30＝大橋）が、WBC同級1位の“悪童”ルイス・ネリ（29＝メキシコ）と5月に東京で対戦することで合意したと米メディアが報じた。
この報道を受けて、元世界2階級王者の京口紘人（30＝ワタナベ）が自身のYouTubeを更新。「ネリ側にオプションを付けるべき」と主張した。
京口はネリを「怖さでいったら過去イチの相手じゃないかな。ドネアより、前回のタパレスより怖さはある」とパンチもあるネリの攻撃性を評価したが、隙もあるので攻略は簡単と説明した。
ネリの戦績は36戦35勝（27KO）1敗と堂々たるもの。ただ、その強敵といえど京口は攻めてくれば逆に「3ラウンド以内で井上のKO勝利」と予想した。
一方、懸案は禁止薬物と体重超過で、山中慎介とのWBCバンタム級タイトルマッチに2度泥を塗り、日本ボクシングコミッション（JBC）から国内での無期限活動停止処分を受けている。
今回、その処分が取り消されるのかも注目だが、京口は井上側はネリ陣営に「定期的な体重報告」「抜き打ちドーピング検査」「莫大な違約金」など悪童ぶりを繰り返せないようなオプションを要求すべきと主張した。
The U.S. media reported that Naoya Inoue (30=Ohashi), the world super bantamweight champion, has agreed to fight Luis Neri (29=Mexico), the "bad boy" ranked No. 1 by the WBC, in Tokyo in May.
Former world two weight champion Hiroto Kyoguchi (30=Watanabe) updated his YouTube page in response to this report. He claimed that "the Neri side should be given an option."
Kyoguchi said Neri "is the most scary opponent ever. He said that Neri's aggressiveness, which includes punching, makes him scarier than Donaire, and scarier than Taparez in the last round.
Neri has an impressive record of 36 fights with 35 wins (27 KOs) and one loss. However, even though he is a strong opponent, Kyoguchi predicted a KO victory for Inoue within three rounds if he attacked.
On the other hand, Inoue's main concerns are banned substances and being overweight, and he has been suspended indefinitely in Japan by the Japan Boxing Commission (JBC) for twice marring his WBC bantamweight title fight with Shinsuke Yamanaka.
It will be interesting to see if that suspension will be rescinded this time, but Kyoguchi insisted that Inoue's side should demand options from Neri's camp such as "regular weight reports," unannounced doping tests, and huge penalties so that he cannot repeat his bad-boy behavior.
