Businessman Hiroyuki updated his X on March 25 and shared his thoughts on the death penalty. On that day, the Kyoto District Court handed down the death sentence to Shinji Aoba, the defendant in the Kyoto animation arson and murder case that killed 36 people.

Hiroyuki expressed his understanding of the verdict due to the extent of the damage, and expressed his feelings toward the medical personnel who treated defendant Aoba, saying, "Considering the efforts of the medical personnel who helped people to get the death penalty, it seems like there should be a judgment that 'because it's a death sentence, there is no need to help...'" He also expressed his feelings toward the medical personnel who treated Aoba. Ryuichi Yoneyama of the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan, who is a qualified doctor and lawyer, responded to this, saying in X, "First of all, we don't know if the death penalty will be imposed until the verdict is finalized. Even after the sentence is finalized, there can be a retrial until the execution. Until then, even if he is restricted as a suspect or a prisoner on death row, he still has human rights, and the rule of law is to treat his illness. There can be no decision not to help." He explained, "I do not deny the possibility that this is a story, but I think it is a grotesque opinion. I think it is a grotesque opinion.

Hiroyuki said, "It is said that the treatment to keep a death row inmate alive is 'for the sake of the trial,' but is there any testimony that can spare him from the death penalty by surviving and testifying? But is there any testimony that would allow him to live to testify and avoid the death penalty? He analyzed the case. If he is to live, he must change the trial system in which the death penalty is decided by circumstantial evidence alone, otherwise it will be meaningless." However, Mr. Yoneyama said, "This is also wrong. If insanity, which is the issue in this case, is found, the death penalty can be avoided in this case. In addition, the death penalty cannot be determined by circumstantial evidence alone, as it also requires a finding of the act of commission, intent, causal relationship, and the absence of grounds for the exclusion of illegality. He pointed out.

At this point, Katsuya Takasu, director of the Takasu Clinic, joined in, saying in X: "Yoneyama-sensei is right. He got a perfect score. He praised him. I believe that a doctor's mission is to do his or her best to help a patient, whether he or she is an enemy or a criminal. I am an old-fashioned katchan who believes that the way of medicine is above the law. He also wrote about his thoughts as a doctor.
