顔全体のしわをとりたいのですが、フェイスリフトの手術をした場合、傷痕のため手術後、何日間くらい仕事を休まなければならないでしょうか。
フェイスリフト手術の基本は、皮下の剥離(はくり)を十分広く行う事です。こめかみは眉の上あたりから目尻の近くまで、頬は法令線近く、頚はのど仏の近くまで皮下を剥離します。これにより深部リガメントは、皮下でしっかり切断されます。
SMAS(スマス)といわれる表情筋の層をつり上げることで、フェイスリフトの効果を高めます。その後、余剰皮膚を切除しながら上方へ顔の皮膚をつり上げるようにして皮膚を三層に縫合していきます。この時、徹底的な形成外科的縫合法で美しく縫い上げて行きます。
広範な皮膚剥離を行った後はその下に血腫という血が溜まりやすい状態になっていますので、手術後圧迫包帯は必須事項でしょう。概ね術後3〜4日間は顔全体を包帯で包み込む様にして圧迫します。
フェイスリフトの術後5日ほどで包帯を除去し7日目で抜糸を行います。包帯を外せば縫合糸はつけたままで、洗顔洗髪または軽いお化粧は可能です。抜糸後くらいからは通常のお仕事は可能ですが、術後の顔の腫れがありますので、これが少し治まってからでないと、人前には出にくいと思います。もちろん腫れはそうすぐには退くものではなく、2か月程度で完全に落ち着くと考えた方が良いでしょう。
一般的には術後2週間程度で概ね落ち着きますので、その位から仕事復帰をお考えになると良いと思います。

The bandages are removed about 5 days after the facelift surgery, and the stitches are removed on the 7th day. Once the bandages are removed, you can wash your face, wash your hair, and apply light makeup with the sutures still attached. You will be able to do normal work after the stitches are removed, but you will have some post-operative facial swelling, so it will be difficult to go out in public until the swelling subsides a little. Of course, the swelling does not go away immediately, and it is better to think that it will completely settle down in about two months.
Generally speaking, it takes about two weeks after the surgery for the swelling to settle down, so it is best to start thinking about returning to work around that time.
