ミノキシジル内服の有用性に関して臨床試験は実施されていない。ミノキシジルは降圧剤として開発されたが本邦では認可されていない。また、男性型脱毛症に対する治療薬としても認可されている国はない。それにもかかわらず、全身の多毛症を起こす副作用があることを根拠に医師が安易に処方したり、一般人が個人輸入で入手し服用することがあるので、医薬品医療機器等法の観点から問題視されている。
多毛症以外のミノキシジル内服薬の副作用の報告は少なく、内服用製剤の添付文書中の市販後調査欄に、胸痛、心拍数増加、動悸、息切れ、呼吸困難、うっ血性心不全、むくみや体重増加などの重大な心血管系障害が生じるとの記載がある。以上のように、ミノキシジルの内服療法は、利益と危険性が十分に検証されていないため、男性型脱毛症・女性型脱毛症ともに行わないよう強く勧められる

No clinical trials have been conducted on the efficacy of oral minoxidil. Minoxidil was developed as an antihypertensive agent but is not approved in Japan. It is also not approved as a treatment for male pattern baldness in any country. Nonetheless, it is considered problematic from the standpoint of the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Law because doctors easily prescribe it on the basis of its side effect of causing generalized hirsutism, and because it is sometimes obtained and taken by the general public through private importation.
There have been few reports of side effects of oral minoxidil other than hypertrichosis, and the post-marketing surveillance section of the package insert for the oral formulation states that it causes serious cardiovascular problems such as chest pain, increased heart rate, palpitations, shortness of breath, dyspnea, congestive heart failure, swelling and weight gain. As described above, oral minoxidil therapy is strongly recommended not to be used for both male and female pattern baldness because the benefits and risks have not been adequately verified.

初期脱毛で髪の毛が抜けても焦らずに、3ヶ月は服用を続けることが大切です

Initial hair loss is a side effect that can occur not only with Minotab but also with other AGA medications such as finasteride and dutasteride, and is a sign that hair is preparing to grow back. Initial hair loss generally lasts one to two months, and if you stop taking the drug during this period, all your efforts will be ruined.

It is important to continue taking the drug for 3 months without being impatient even if hair falls out due to initial hair loss!
